About the event
This workshop is the second in a series designed to expand the student's understanding of yoga from the perspectives of philosophy, energy, and of course physical practice. This is for the beginner yogi looking to delve a little deeper beyond a mat practice, and also for the more experienced practitioner who is ready to revisit foundational concepts for a stronger, more purposeful practice. Based on popular demand, our second workshop will cover the following topics: Beginner Yoga Philosophy:
Brief recap of the 8 Limbs of Yoga per Patanjali's Yoga Sutras as covered in the first workshop.
Basics of Breath Control & Meditation:
Taking a deeper dive into two of the 8 Limbs: Pranayama (breath control) and Dhyana (meditation). We will cover 3 breath techniques and you'll learn tips for integrating intentional breath and meditation into your practice and your life. Foundational Asanas + Modifications:
We will cover foundational asanas, as well as some useful modifications/variations for common poses found in a vinyasa class. Depending on time/interest, we may expand into binds and transitions. *If you have a specific asana request, please send Ash a message via social media or email contact@yoga-withash.com. The workshop will last 3 hours and will include periods of study as well as physical practice. All props and materials provided, including informational worksheets for notes & home study. Dress comfortably, as you would for a movement class. Hot tea & light snacks will be available.
*Limited to 10 participants.
*If you didn't make it to the first workshop, do not fret! You will not be "behind". Materials will be available covering last workshop's info, if you are interested in studying at home.
